Alexandria, La. – LSUA softball continued to bolster its ranks as with the addition of junior college transfer Micahla Hughes, who signed her letter of intent to join the Generals.

Hughes, a shortstop and catcher from Jonesville, La., spent the last two seasons at Baton Rouge Community College. Last season with the Bears, she hit .277, getting 13 hits in 47 at bats, including two doubles. She raised her average from her freshman season, where she hit .206 in 63 at bats with seven RBIs. She prepped at Jena High School where she was a four-time All-State honorable mention and was the district's most valuable player in 2014. She Hughes also earned many other accolades, including earning spots on the All-District, All-CenLA and All-Metro teams.

Hughes is set to join the Generals for the 2018 softball season.
