Alexandria, LA – In an effort to continue bulking up his squad for the 2017-18 season, LSUA women's basketball coach Bob Austin announced the signings of junior transfers Chantal Hill and Alexis Harris, along with incoming freshmen Madison Smith and Ciera Daniels.

Alexis Harris, a 5-7 shooting guard from Washington, Louisiana, heads to LSUA after two seasons at LSU Shreveport. She appeared in 26 games for the Pilots, hitting 33.3% of her shots while averaging just more than a point a game while mostly coming off the bench. Before attending LSUS, she played at Northwest High School in Opelousas, where she was named Offensive Player of the Year twice while being named to the All-Parish and All-District teams in both her junior and senior seasons. She plans on majoring in psychology while at LSUA.

Madison Smith, a 5-4 point guard from Alexandria, comes to LSUA from nearby Holy Savior Menard High School. One of the top scorers in Menard's history, she amassed nearly 1,600 points while on the floor for the Eagles. Smith was named All-District all four years of her high school career, being named to the second team as a freshman and sophomore, while making the first team in both her junior and senior campaigns. Smith plans on majoring in nursing while at LSUA.

Chantal Hill, a 5-5 shooting guard from San Antonio, Texas, comes to LSUA after time at both Highline College and Frank Phillips College. At Frank Phillips last season, Hill averaged 6.7 points on 35.1% shooting, including 30.5% from above the arc in 25 games played, including eight starts. In her freshman year, she averaged 8.7 points on 49% shooting at Highline. Hill prepped at James Madison High in San Antonio, where she averaged two points and two rebounds a game. She's undecided on her major at LSUA.

Ciera Daniels, a 5-8 forward from Mandeville, Louisiana, joins LSUA from Fontainebleau High School. With the Bulldogs, she was an All-State honorable mention as a junior, then as a senior, was named first team All-District. She plans on studying in the medical program at LSUA.

All four will join LSUA in the fall and be immediately eligible to join the Generals basketball team.
